1. What is Becoming in one sentence?
It is an invitation to consider the truths I have learned through living my life and reflecting upon it.
2. Why did you feel compelled to write this book now?
In late 2024 something in me stirred and I made a New Years resolution to record it. It really began as something for my daughters and then I realized it might have value to others.
3. Who is this book for?
It is for people who feel these things but lack the recognition, language or confidence to trust what they already know.
4. Who is this book not for?
It is not for those who have willingly surrendered their judgment to rigid authority, unquestioned dogma or darkness.
5. You state that this is not a religion or manifesto. Why was that important to clarify?
Because I do not want to be seen as a leader or a sage, I'm not. This is not a lock and key system. It should be like water—you dip your hand in, take what you need and leave the rest.
6. You begin with “You are good enough.” Why start there?
Because in my experience I have met many thoughtful, deep people who have been made to believe they are lacking something. We are assaulted by such things until we become blind to who we really are.
7. Why is imperfection central to the idea of becoming?
Because nothing is perfect. Everything and everyone exists in some state of growth or change. What we call perfection never holds. It's an ideal and ideals are elusive over time, cultures, etc.
8. What do you mean by “Your Personal Sacred”?
It is the part of you that knows when something is right or wrong before you can explain it. A guiding voice. Your witness of good, grace or divinity.
9. How do sovereignty and spirituality coexist in this work?
Together we are connected, but each of us remains an individual with our own judgment and experience. Spiritual connection does not cancel personal sovereignty.
10. Why is abandoning passivity so essential?
Because an idle mind will turn on itself. When directed toward positive action it can change a moment, a day, or even a life. Act now - DO!
11. Why is contrast necessary?
Nothing stands without comparison. It is old wisdom: everything of importance is understood in relation to its opposite. Look for it and it shows itself.
12. What does “Always Be Creating” really mean in this context?
We are creative beings, all of us. Any channel we use to create something positive is profound. Creation is another voice within us—one that can express what words alone cannot. There are thousands of voices to exercise.
13. How should a reader approach the glyphs?
With an open mind and the freedom to ignore or adopt them as they choose. The glyphs may evolve into a broader symbolic language in future work, but they are meant to be encountered, not decoded. If I put meaning into them then their personal value to the reader is influenced. That's not why they are there.
14. Is this book meant to be read once or revisited?
There are no rules. Read it front to back, backward, upside down or a single page at a time. However it resonates with you is the right way because it is your way.
15. What does practicing gratitude actually change?
It changes what you notice. When you train yourself to see what is good, your life stops feeling like a deficit. Learn to find joy in the simplest of things and the big things will blow you away.
16. How does one recognize personal symbols without superstition?
Superstition is living by someone else’s interpretation and energy. Personal symbols should feel empowering, not haunting. Adopt the ones that strengthen you and let the rest go. Keep them grounded and positive.
17. What does “Begin Again” look like in real life?
It depends on the person. It can be a daily reset or a slow climb. Every morning is an opportunity to continue your path or begin a new one. Every moment is an opportunity to start, shift or launch yourself in a positive way.
18. What internal shift do you hope occurs in someone who finishes this book?
I hope it strengthens gratitude, self-appreciation and self-respect and helps someone shift toward a more productive and positive outlook. This then effects their immediate social circle and beyond.
19. If a reader forgets everything else, what should remain?
Gratitude makes you happy.
20. What does becoming mean to you today?
It has been a long path toward inner peace, marked by lessons I did not always recognize and costs I did not always understand. Today it means waking each morning with a reason to smile—or the discipline to find one. It's knowing we have the power to change ourselves and the world.
